“You watch your phraseology!” Meredith Willson’s, The Music Man at The 5th Avenue Theatre features every classic line and song from the entertaining musical set in Iowa.
In case you’ve been living under a rock the show stars a traveling salesman named Harold Hill who arrives in River City, Iowa in the summer of 1912 with the intent to scam the local people. Highlights of the show include Laura Kenny who plays a very funny Mrs. Shinn (pictured above in green), Laura Griffith who plays Marian Paroo sings like an angel, and Noah Racey who plays Harold Hill dances so light on his feet in the library scene that that scene stole the show! (Both pictured in first photo.)
Overheard in the seats: ”I thought the start was slow, but the ensemble is incredible.”
Favorite scene: The library scene, so entertaining!
